Impressions From Former Colleagues, Students & Their Families

Joe Maturi

Retired Director of Athletics,

University of Minnesota

When I returned to Minnesota as the Director of Athletics, one of my first hires was Katie Hanneman. The golf program was scheduled to be eliminated, so the head coach had left. The program was in disarray. We raised money to "save" the program, and Katie provided leadership and stability at an important time. The young woman took to her teaching and her values. The athletes loved competing for her and grew as golfers and as people. Katie knows golf, is an excellent instructor, and is connected to many in the sport.

Kris Wessinger

Former Assistant Women's Golf Coach,

University of Minnesota

Coach Hanneman has an incredible golf background – from coaching Division 1 athletes, to athletes playing at the professional level. Her positive coaching and knowledge for the game of golf has made a huge impact on many talented players.

Christine Hvidston

University of Minnesota Women's Golf Team Alumni

My experience with Coach Hanneman was invaluable. She is a great coach and more importantly, person. Her kind and caring disposition made my recruiting experience very enjoyable for me and my family. In addition to her great personality, her depth of knowledge and experience with golf played an instrumental role in maintaining the high standards of the University of Minnesota golf program. She helped me become successful on the golf course and in the classroom.

Parent of 13-year-old Golf Student

Katie is the perfect blend of coach and mentor. She has that "magical" ability to guide them in life lessons using the game of golf as a platform, while improving their golf game all at the same time. If you haven't experienced it yet, you should! She's an incredible gift.

Steve & Carrie

Over the past 14 months, Katie has worked with our son from his short game to his tee ball and his game has shown steady improvement. Katie has the rare combination of encouraging and connecting with her students so they have fun while learning.
